My Navel piercing

Well I have a navel piercing and I just love it.

At first I worried, “should I get it, is it going to hurt? are people going to think I’m weird? Am I going to get a disease?” So I did some research.

I found that some people found the piercing process to be very painful and others didn’t even feel it. One of my friends had it, and now I wanted it even more.

So I asked my parents and eventually persuaded them into saying yes (I think that’s the hardest part for some people).

Arriving at that place was pretty scary, I was nervous and I saw everyone around me getting tattooed, and pierced. Some looked as if it didn’t bother them, and others we’re quite worried. My dad and I signed the papers saying I knew what I had to do and how to treat it and everything.

The lady then came in and told me to follow her, So I did. She told me to pick a belly button ring. At this point I was so excited and didn’t even think about the whole needle in my stomach thing. I’m used to needles, I’ve had my ears pierced 13 times.

I got a lot of questions about them, so I wanted something different. I finally picked one of the many rings they had and she told me to wait about 5 minutes. My dad and I were standing outside the door just waiting for them to call me in.

Eventually they did, I made my dad come in with me. The man was pretty big and had a lot of tattoos. He reached into a big bucket full of sealed needles. I sat down in front of him but he told me to stand up, so I did. I was expecting to lye down.

He sterilized my belly button and the skin around it. I held up my shirt just enough so he could pierce my belly button, and I could see what was going on.

He put the clamp on, grabbing the upper part of my skin from my belly button. This allowed him to hold the skin in place. Everyone says that part hurts the most, but I didn’t really think it did. I didn’t feel anything at all.

Its just like you pulling the skin on your stomach. I mean of course you know he’s there doing something to your skin but it doesn’t feel like he sticking anything inside of you.

At first I had my head turned, I didn’t want to see the needle because if its anything like a shot then I’d get queasy. After a few seconds I didn’t feel anything so I decided to look.

HE WAS LIKE ALREADY HALF WAY THROUGH! I was like what the heck?! I didn’t feel a thing! It didn’t take long at all! I actually found it fascinating to watch. I’d defiantly do it again if I had to. I recommend it to anyone who wants one.

If you pluck your eyebrows, or have the cartilage part of your ear pierced, there’s nothing to it. You’ll laugh at yourself for even being worried in the first place.

I’m 14 years old, and soon I’ll be 15. I’ve had it for almost a year now. I wash it and take care of it so I’ve been lucky enough not to get any infections. If you’re not going to take care of it, then your going to get an infection and it will hurt.

And for those of you afraid of blood, mine didn’t bleed at all. The only thing I was afraid of, was that it would somehow get ripped out, never did. You can’t be a careless person. It doesn’t take much to treat it properly, so if you do get an infection then its your own fault.
