Infection

When I first got my belly done I thought it was like any other piercing, that I’ll be healed in 6-8 weeks and I could do whatever but that was not the case.

As I was takin’ dance lessons @ da time I didn’t cover it with a plaster ( as my piercer had advised me 2) but I didn’t. So weeks went by I kept on knocking it, hittin it ,accidentally of course.

Then the site started becomin really sore, red. Couple of weeks later it started oozing pus..

At last I went to my piercer where he told me that my body is rejecting the belly bar and I have to get it re-pierced.

A year later I got it pierced again and so far it’s looking great!

    1. Hi there,
I recently updated the Belly Piercing Aftercare instructions post on this site so read this and make sure you have been following the instructions given. If you have been following the correct instructions and it hasn’t helped, then it’s necessary to see a professional piercer. I cant see the piercing so im not sure exactly what type of infection you have. They may be able to give you some advice. However, if the infection persists it may be necessary to see a medical professional. Bactroban (available by prescription only) is an effective antibiotic for piercing infections. Your doctor may be unfamiliar with the drug so make sure to take specify to them that this is what you want. Hope this helps – come back and let me know how you get on – your story will help countless others.
